About Wisconsin Ice Exchange
I'm Ken Culver, and I built this because I got tired of how hard it was to schedule a hockey game.
Last year I was the scheduler for my daughter Kai's team. Kai is nine, heading into her second season of full-ice association hockey, and I'll be scheduling for her team again this year. If you've done this job, you know the drill: to find a single match you're posting across four different Facebook groups, filling out association web forms because nobody wants to expose their email to the open internet, texting, calling, tracking down the person who knows the person — and running into dead contacts half the time. Something that should take a few minutes takes four times longer than it feels like it should.
I've spent more than twenty years working on and teaching database design. So this is a solvable problem sitting right in the middle of the two things I know best — hockey logistics and data. We have the tools to make this easier than it is. I was able to build it, so I did.
Wisconsin Ice Exchange will always be free. No fees, no paywalled features, and I will never sell your data. I believe in the version of the internet where a community has a problem, somebody who can fix it does, and the fix just exists — free, weird, and built for its purpose. That's the spirit this was made in.
If you use it and want to buy me a coffee someday, there's a Ko-fi link for that. Completely optional, genuinely not expected. The site stays free either way.
